Back, but with more blog. And less re-blog.
I’ve gone on a major tumblr hiatus.
I didn’t exactly cheat on tumblr. I’d say our relationship was one-dimensional. The continuous scrolling and re-blogging and posting of image after ironic image made me tired after awhile. I needed a break. I explored my options. The internet is a very large sea, with a lot of blogging fish to choose from. I contemplated blogspot, before I realized it reminded me too much of high school English class. I saved a couple URLs with Wordpress, trying to make myself into an html code-obsessed freelance writer who spends their time in cafes, taking advantage of the free wireless and strong coffee.
But alas, I found myself back at tumblr, where I began - or at least where I could stay for awhile. I have a new perception on how I want this internet-blog-relationship with myself, to work. This will be a collection of my work, my writing, my art, and my life. A way for me to expel the creative juices that have been hibernating for nearly 2.5 years now. Or at least a way to force myself.
You may also hear a little about this marathon I’m running in a month’s time - in Miami. But more on that later. For now, I will sit back with my raspberry-lime Polar seltzer water (big race tomorrow, or else I would have chosen the wine), and relish in my return to the gray-blue dashboard, endless black hole of internet discovery that is tumblr.
